Lucille B. Denton, 88, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2020 at the home. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 1, at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 N. 94th St. Kansas City, Kansas 66112. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call 5-7:00 PM Monday at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Avenue, Kansas City, KS with a Rosary prayed at 5:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in her name to The St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital
Lucille was born January 2, 1932, in Circleville, KS to Louis and Frances (Nelson) Bauer. She was a graduate of Bishop Ward High School. On November 24, 1951, she married Charles F. Denton Jr. in St. Peter's Cathedral. She was a garment marker for Macy's Distribution Center until 1985. She was a former member of St. Joseph - St. Benedict Catholic Church and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She volunteered at the St. Mary's Food Kitchen. Lucille loved reading, sewing, embroidery and quilting. She was a member of Holy Rosary Sodality, with All Saints Parish, St Lawrence Guild with St. Joseph Home She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Denton, Jr. in 1996 and her brother Robert Bauer and three grandchildren. Lucille is survived by her children; Charles L. Denton (Janet), Jay Denton (Annette), Jeffery Denton (Brenda), Theresa Henre (Joseph), Martin Denton (Stacy), Lora Riggs, Gary Denton (Tina), sisters; Dorothy Bauer, Rebecca Hartman, sister-in-law Shirley Ann Denton, 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many extended family and friends.
