Nov 30, 1967---Sep 21, 2020

Joseph Michael Huber III, 52, Lenexa, KS, passed away Monday, September 21, 2020 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, September 26, at 10:00 am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 11300 West 103rd Street, Overland Park, Kansas.

Joe was born on November 30, 1967 at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois the son of Joseph and Catherine (Brinkman) Huber.  He was a 1985 graduate of Newark Catholic High School in Newark, Ohio.  Joe went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas in 1989 and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of San Diego.  He spent his career working in the insurance industry in San Diego, California and the Kansas City area.  Joe was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Elizabeth (Osborne) Huber and Fred and Isabel (Hoffert) Brinkman, Joe is survived by his parents and siblings Elizabeth (Jim) Connolly and Matthew Huber, nieces Catherine and Isabelle Connolly and Emma Huber and his nephew Eli Huber. He will be greatly missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Joe enjoyed travel visiting places like Ireland, England, Germany, Switzerland, France, Brazil – but never to Canada.  Prior to the pandemic, for the last ten years he and his brother Matt and parents met every Saturday morning at different restaurants as “the Breakfast Bunch”.  His Monopoly and Trivial Pursuit skills, quick wit and ability to quote a “Brady Bunch” episode were unmatched.  He was a caring, loyal friend to the people he loved.  Joe was a favorite person of the family dogs and will be greatly missed by Buddy, Max, Jack and Benny.

Burial will follow the Mass at Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations are made to Holy Spirit Catholic School.

Joe’s family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, love and support.  Messages of condolence may be sent to Joe and Cathy Huber, 10423 Garnett, Overland Park, KS  66214.

I have many, many, many years of wonderful and fun memories together during our 15 years at ACM. Dancing in each of the rooms of my first house, all-night life discussions, and even coming up with creative work ideas for hours. May God grace the entire Huber family with loving arms during this difficult transition and tragic loss. RIP Joe Huber.

Joe and I have known each other since 1992. We were best friends when we lived in San Diego. I have countless memories and I am so saddened by this news. Joe and I worked together at American Claims but then after 10 years of losing touch we reconnected again 3 1/2 years ago when we found ourselves working for the same company, Key Insurance. Joe always had a special place in my heart and I will miss him terribly. My heartfelt sympathies to his wonderful family. You meant the world to him I feel like I knew you all. May he rest in piece.

To the Huber family, my heartfelt condolences on the loss of Joe. It was my pleasure to work with Joe this past eight years. He was passionate and professional, thoughtful, caring, supportive and really funny. The world is lonelier and far less interesting without him. Rest in peace, dear friend.

I met Joe back in 1990 and became fast friends. One of the smartest, funniest, people I've ever know. So many "Joeisms that I quote and still laugh to this day. I remember going to see the Brady Bunch as a play and sitting on the theater floor on pillows making a living room. Such fond memories I will cherish forever. My heart felt sympathies to the family, to Joe, Family was everything. Gone too soon, but so very thankful to have known him. Another Angel in Heaven Rest in Peach my dear friend.

From the time Joe came to Kansas City and over the years as we had the fortune to enjoy dinners and fun times together, we grew to love Joe. He was kind, generous, thoughtful and had that sharp wit that was so funny. Every time we were together, we had a blast. Joe, I hope to see you in heaven because I know you are already there. Love, the Gassers

To the family and friends of Mr. Huber always cherish the fond memories of time spent together and although you may grieve the Bible can be a source of comfort. At (Revelation 21:3,4) it speaks of a time when there will be no more sickness or death, also at (Acts 24:15) it speaks of a resurrection that we all can look forward to. May the peace and love of the God of all comfort be with you all. Comfort can be found in our Creator through prayer and through his word the Bible and in Jesus Christ.
