Michael and I rode the same bus during middle school. Occasionally, i would get picked on and made fun of by a boy named Preston. I was very small for my age and Preston was much bigger than I was, plus i was very shy so i would never defend myself. One day as Preston began taunting me, Michael caught on to what was happening. Michael - being a much bigger kid than most -got up out of his seat, walked to the back of the bus where i was sitting, and set Preston straight. Michael then invited me to come sit with him, where he conversed with me and let me know that I'm always welcome to sit with him on the bus. Though this moment was likely not too big of a deal for him, it meant the world to me. From that day on, i no longer dreaded riding the bus. Michael made sure i knew that if i was ever bullied again, he'd have my back. I was heartbroken when i heard what happened and would like to extend my deepest, most sincere condolences to the Tamer family. Even though Michael and I were not close freinds, his memory will live in my heart as long as i live. God Bless the Tamer Family, and God Bless Michael Fadi Tamer. May he rest in peace.
