Pamela Eckel entered her heavenly home on July 14, 2020.  She passed peacefully with her beloved family at her side.  Private family graveside services will be held at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Shawnee, Kansas.  A public Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2020 at the Porter Funeral Home, Lenexa, KS.

Pam was born to Harold and Margaret Moore at Chestnut Hill Hospital, just on the edge of Philadelphia on March 2, 1944 and grew up in Coopersburg, PA.

Pam attended High School in Center Valley, PA, studied and enjoyed art lessons in Bethlehem, PA, and graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts.  She accepted a job as an artist for a large social expression company in Kansas City, MO

While attending college Pam met Larry Eckel and they were married in 1966 at the Valley Forge Chapel back in Philadelphia. After working for a few years as a full time artist, Pam became a full time mother. While taking care of their two children Todd and Eric, Pam spent time as a freelance artist and writer. She displayed her artwork at the Plaza Art Show, among other shows in the Kansas City area.

Pam has two siblings; Bill Moore was in engineering, living in Collegeville, PA before he passed away in November 2019. Doug Moore was a research microbiologist before retiring on the North Fork (both Greenport and Cutchogue) of Long Island, NY and Venice, FL..

She has one grandson, Ethan, the child of Eric and Allison Eckel.

Pam was a loving wife for over 53 years, and a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend.

Dear Whitey, Todd, Eric, Allison and Ethan, We send our love as we morn the loss of Pam. She was thoughtful, kind, talented and beautiful through and through. Everyone she touched will remember her sweet, gentle spirit and the wonderful memories we share will remain with us now and forever. "Aunt Pam" was my Nana's best friend since high school! I only met her a couple of times, but she was always warm, kind, and clearly a very nurturing person who was full of love. Moving out to the Midwest didn't stop her from being a wonderful friend to my nana - they would talk on the phone regularly and it was clear that Nana always left their conversations happy and revitalised. My deepest condolences to the family - the world needs more "Aunt Pams"! All of our love, "Tasha", Sue and Bill Moyer.
