Rosemary (Smith) Colbert, 74, a beloved mother, grandmother, homemaker and longtime resident of Coffeyville, Kansas, passed into glory on February 12, 2020.

Rosemary was born August 18, 1945.  She was adopted, and reared in Coffeyville, Kansas by Ora A and Justine Smith.  She also attended Coffeyville public Schools.  She was a Homemaker for many years before venturing out into the workforce and working as a Certified Nurse’s Aide both in Coffeyville and then in the Kansas City, area.  She was later employed at Wal-Mart until her retirement. 

She married Donald Lee Colbert in September of 1962 and bore him two children; Steven Lee Colbert of Dallas, Texas, and Angela Colbert-Pitts of Lenexa, Kansas., both of whom remain behind to cherish her memory.  She also leaves behind one grandson Antoine O’Neal Pitts of Kansas City, Missouri.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents Ora A. and Justine Smith, and brother Tommy Griffin. 

Also remaining behind to cherish her memory are sisters Lanita Mosby of North Carolina, Debra Griffin of Surprise, Arizona, and brothers Greg and William Griffin of Long Beach, CA, and Jerry Smith of Wichita, KS.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Porter Funeral Home at 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, Kansas

Interment following service at Lenexa Cemetery.
