After the Coast Guard, Russell entered a career in food sales and was Vice President for Williams Foods, Inc. He enjoyed playing golf and tennis and was a member of the Shriners.

Russell is survived by son Russell (Kim) Penson, Spring, TX, daughter Tracy (Brian) Schumacher, Overland Park, KS, grandchildren; Brandon (Megan) Schumacher, Brent Schumacher, Jason (Chrissy), Megan (Marteze), three great grandchildren Marty, Dillon, Autumn, niece Elizabeth (Tom) Clark and great nieces Jordan and Sydney.

He was preceded in death by wife Donna and daughter Arlene Merrick.

Tracy and family, knew your Dad & Mom a lot of years. They were a joy to be around. I know you will miss them. May your memories bring you peace and joy. Russell would come and pick us up when we had something going on in Missouri because we didn't know our way around. So we called him our chauffeur. Love to you and family. Norma

Tracy and Brian. Mary and I send our most sincere condolences at this sad time. Sue Marske let us know. I had the pleasure of meeting your father, Tracy, several times at the Surgery Center. I had the distinct impression that he fit the definition of a "Gentle Man" very clearly. Our prayers are with you and Brian and the family on this sad day. Bill
