Aug 17, 1993---Jan 20, 2020

Storm Cherie Shannon Holmes life was cut short at age 26 when she passed away January 20, 2020 after a long battle with brain cancer.  A tree will be planted and a park bench will be placed in Storm’s memory in Macken Park in North Kanas City, Missouri.  A memorial service will be held in the spring.

Storm, born August 17, 1993 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, was the eldest daughter of William Robert Shannon and Teri Lynn Valentine. She graduated from La Crosse-Logan High School in 2012 and earned an associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering from ITT. Storm worked at Sam’s Club as a decorator and on August 16, 2019 married the love of her life, Christopher Holmes. Storm greatly enjoyed the out-of-doors, adored visiting zoos and taking long walks with her husband through Macken Park. She had a passion for football, particularly the Kansas City Chiefs and the Green Bay Packers and would wear both their team colors simultaneously. She had a fetish for Croc shoes and tie-dye, thoroughly loved decorating cakes and was often heard to quote poet Robert Frost’s “it goes on”.  Her favorite color was yellow and she had a wonderful laugh.

Storm is survived by her husband and her parents, her brothers Branden Shannon, Jordan Valentine and sister Lexis Shannon and all of Kansas City, Missouri.  She is also survived by her maternal grandfather Richard A. Valentine of La Crosse, Wisconsin, her paternal grandmother Reva Shannon of Kansas City, Missouri as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins and her lifelong best friend Cheyenne Marie Hellerud.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, James Michael Shannon of Atchison, Kansas, her maternal grandmother Ellen Cherie (nee) Neary Valentine, her uncle Timothy Valentine and cousin Avery Valentine all of La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Storm was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
