Sherry G. Wood, 76, Lenexa, KS, died Jan 12, 2020 at Delmar Gardens of Lenexa.  Marvin E. Wood, 83, Lenexa died Sep 21, 2019 at Colonial Village, Overland Park, KS. Shared Memorial Service 11 a.m.  January 23, 2020 at Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa.  Graveside for Marvin, 2:30 pm Thursday, January 23 at Leavenworth National Cemetery.  Graveside for Sherry, 11am Friday, January 24 at Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS.  

Sherry loved to write. She worked on the Lenexa Times Newspaper for many years when she was younger and became very involved in helping others in the community.  She eventually published her own newspaper, Country Times.  Sherry was a big part of the Lenexa Historical Society and helped create Lenexa Van Go.  Probably her favorite thing was the Teen Advisory Council, where she touched so many lives.  She was also active in Lenexa Tough Love as well as T.A.C. where she was active in writing grants.  She loved dogs and was a strong supporter of the humane society.  She adored her grandson and loved hearing him play the piano.  People who know Sherry would share her passion, when things seemed impossible, she would find a way.
