LeRoy Joseph Karlin (Roy), age 88, passed away January 8, 2020. He was born in 1931 in Hays Kansas to William and Amanda (Kuhn) Karlin. He married Anita Werth, also of Hays, in 1956. Roy graduated from St. Thomas Moore Prep High School in Hays in 1949 and served in the Navy during the Korean War. He graduated from Kansas University in 1958. Roy and his family lived in various cities during his work life but he loved Kansas City the most and retired there in 2004. He was a KC sports enthusiast and also enjoyed tennis, golf, and bowling. Roy is survived by son, Robert Karlin of Gardners, PA; daughter, Leslie Karlin of Roeland Park, KS; granddaughter, Kasey (Devon) Dobbs of Gardners, PA; two great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anita; sisters, Agnes (Decker) and Marilyn (Ekey).  Visitation 9:30-10:30 am with Funeral Services 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS. Burial in Lenexa Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Organization.
