Brent A Harrison, 67, of Lenexa, KS, passed away Saturday Dec. 28, 2019 on his way back to Kansas City from his favorite home "The Lake of the Ozarks". Visitation will be 6-8:00PM Thursday, Jan. 2, at Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia St., Lenexa, KS (913) 438-6444). Funeral Services will be 1:00PM Friday, Jan. 3, at Porter Funeral Home. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Casket bearers: Kyle Douglas, Adam Rector, Bryan Loveridge, Matt Moeder, Mike O'Dell and Jason Jordan.
Brent was born Dec. 13, 1952, in Kansas City, Kansas. He grew up in Kansas City, KS as a child and went to college at Kansas State University earning his bachelors degree in business administration. Brent went on to become a certified purchasing manager. Brent married Patti Beckman Aug 10, 1974 and they lived in Olathe, KS until moving to Lenexa, KS in 1984. Brent found his favorite pastime in 1989 when he began going to the "Lake of the Ozarks" regularly with his best friend Jeff Allen who he now joins for endless lake adventures (We are not there to keep you two out of trouble, so be careful till we meet again boys).
The lake was his favorite place to be and where he could be found most often since his retirement. He has been the "Lake Dad" for his entire life to both Kimberly & Blake, but also to his favorite child, Kyle Douglas and all the "boys". Boys weekend was an annual event that often ended with stories that we all got to hear for years.
Brent retired from Dairy Farmers of AmericaApril 1, 2019 and anyone who knew him was sure to have heard how great the chocolate milk was and how many gallons of milk were used at the milk bar a day. Brent worked at Bendix, Marion, KPMG, H&R Block, and Dairy Farmers of America throughout his career.
Brent is survived by his wife Patti Harrison, children Kimberly Harrison (Jon George), Blake Harrison, mother Myrtle Harrison, brothers Barry (Donna) Harrison, Brad (Judy) Harrison, grandchildren Angelina (Tyler) Hinnen, Maria Harrison, Brother and Sister in-laws Linda & Carl Newman, Monte Lynch and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Brent was preceded in death by his father Robert Harrison, grandparents Glenn & Bertha Harrison, and Elmer & Georganna Burchfield, and sister in-law Elaine Lynch.
Brent is survived by close lifelong family friends Kyle & Alexis (Kaden & Karson) Douglas.
