John Richard Reeves, 88, formerly of Lenexa, KS passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Hospice House of Olathe KS. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 23, at Evangel Church, 1414 E. 103rd Street, Kansas City, MO, with visitation at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to Evangel Church, for the Kingdom Builders Fund.
John was born May 28, 1931 in Bloomington, IL, the son of John William and Theresa Quinn Reeves. He grew up on a farm in El Paso, IL before moving to the Chicago area in 1954. He worked in various positions, ultimately becoming a courier for a savings and loan company for 15 years, retiring in 1996. He moved to Lenexa, KS in 2002.
John was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Leota, Lucille, and Eileen. He is survived by his six children and their spouses, David Reeves, Kevin and Debby Miller, Mark and LaRae Reeves, Ron and Marybeth Rockrohr, Michael and Jenny Reeves, and Andy and Pam Joy, as well as ten grandchildren, their spouses, and four great grandchildren.
