Merle L. Froese, age 68, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 30, 2019. Merle was born on April 28, 1951 to Eddie and Verna Froese in Inman, KS. He was an ordained minister and missionary who was active in prison ministry. Merle was also an ingenious mechanic, inventor, husband, father, grandfather, friend and lover of God. He is survived by his loving wife Theresa Froese, daughters Shannon Wade, Debra Kovar and their mother Shelley Speer, son-in-law Jason Kovar, grandchildren Kelaiah Wade, Savannah Kovar, Dawson Kovar and Jonathon Kovar. He was preceded in death by his grandson Elias Wade.
Merle was also a father to Theresa’s children Shoni DeBusk, Ryan Tomlinson, and Andrea Williams, son-in-law Jeremy DeBusk, daughter-in-law Laura Tomlinson and grandchildren Joshua, Colton, Walker, Madison, Becca, Bailey, Brandon and Braylon.
Merle’s legacy began in a family business in custom wheat harvesting, serving farms from Texas to Canada. Due to his mechanical skills, and later a career in mechanics, Merle always had no less than twenty, or so, mechanical projects in progress in his workshop. If he wasn’t volunteering his time or watching movies with his wife, he was sure to be found tinkering in his workshop. His family is fond of knowing that he has now completed his final project here on Earth.
Merle’s faith, hope and assurance in Christ sprouted as a young man and matured into living a life that shone the light of Christ. He was always ready with a message of hope to others, speaking love, joy and peace over our doubts and fears, while winning many to Christ. There was no greater desire for him except to know that his loving wife, family and friends were also conscious of Christ’s love…..and it is in Christ’s love that we shall remain.
Please join us in laying Merle to rest on Friday, December 6th at 2:00pm. An outdoor burial ceremony will take place at Mound Grove Cemetery 1818 N. River Blvd. Independence, MO 64050.
