Apr 28, 1951---Nov 30, 2019

Merle L. Froese, age 68, peacefully went  to be with his Lord and Savior on November 30, 2019. Merle was born on April 28, 1951 to Eddie and Verna Froese in Inman, KS. He was an ordained minister and missionary who was active in prison ministry. Merle was also an ingenious mechanic, inventor, husband, father, grandfather, friend and lover of God. He is survived by his loving wife Theresa Froese, daughters Shannon Wade, Debra Kovar and their mother Shelley Speer, son-in-law Jason Kovar, grandchildren Kelaiah Wade, Savannah Kovar, Dawson Kovar and Jonathon Kovar. He was preceded in death by his grandson Elias Wade.

Merle was also a father to Theresa’s children Shoni DeBusk, Ryan Tomlinson, and Andrea Williams, son-in-law Jeremy DeBusk, daughter-in-law Laura Tomlinson and grandchildren Joshua, Colton, Walker, Madison, Becca, Bailey, Brandon and Braylon.

Merle’s legacy began in a family business in custom wheat harvesting, serving farms from Texas to Canada. Due to his mechanical skills, and later a career in mechanics, Merle always had no less than twenty, or so, mechanical projects in progress in his workshop. If he wasn’t volunteering his time or watching movies with his wife, he was sure to be found tinkering in his workshop. His family is fond of knowing that he has now completed his final project here on Earth.

Merle’s faith, hope and assurance in Christ sprouted as a young man and matured into living a life that shone the light of Christ. He was always ready with a message of hope to others, speaking love, joy and peace over our doubts and fears, while winning many to Christ. There was no greater desire for him except to know that his loving wife, family and friends were also conscious of Christ’s love…..and it is in Christ’s love that we shall remain.

Please join us in laying Merle to rest on Friday, December 6th at 2:00pm. An outdoor burial ceremony will take place at Mound Grove Cemetery 1818 N. River Blvd. Independence, MO 64050. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Merle’s name to Charis Bible College, where he was an avid volunteer and substitute teacher, 7219 W. 95th Street, Overland Park, KS 66212. www.charisbiblecollegekansascity.org

I am awfully sorry to hear this. Mr Froese was a pleasure to know, and was always in high spirits. Everytime I saw him he was helping others, and he always had a smile on his face. I am happy however, that he HAS a relationship with the Lord, and hes in His presence as we remember him. Praying for your family was actually peaceful, as I know he stood in good faith. With Love, A. Jackson, student

Theresa and Merle's Family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Merle is present with Jesus and all those who went before him. I'm sure that Karen was there to greet him. What joy they are experiencing in the presence of perfect peace and joy. The Father of lights has not even a shadow of turning or change. God is Love there is no fear in love! I wiil be praying for you to be encouraged during the waves of sorrow. Where they are there are no tears, no more pain nor suffering. That fact brings me much joy! With best regards, Randall Lange

My heart and prayers continue to go out to Merle's family. I knew Merle briefly but can attest to his amazing character. I was new to school this year and he was the first one to make me feel welcomed. I watched his faithfulness each week at school and took his example to heart. Praying God's peace over your hearts and that beauty will come out of these ashes.

Merle was always there to greet us at the college. While we are not students at the college, Merle was there to make us feel special and a family member. We loved Merle and look forward to seeing him again. Grace unto his family. Sid and Janet

Please know that Dan and I are praying for comfort for you all that only Jesus can bring. Merle will be missed but his love of life, people, and adventure brings warm memories. He stepped in and helped villagers in Peru get their water well up and running! He knew that the Lord used him in unique and exciting ways! His memory inspires me!

Such a blessing to everyone he met and God’s precious disciple who treasured his family and his walk with Jesus. He will be dearly missed.

I am so sad to hear about the passing of Merle. We were neighbors in Inman and played almost every day with Merle and his brother Dicky. I am so glad to hear that he had such a wonderful life.
