Ron....words are always difficult at a time like this. Shirley's grace and quiet demeanor and her love for you and the kids are to be cherished. Remember all the happy times you enjoyed together and preserve them. They will help you to cope. I remember when Nancy and I invited the two of you to attend the play "A Chorus Line" with us. I was concerned about some of the language being too coarse for Shirley. I needn't of worried, she handled it with her usual grace. Just know Ron, our thoughts and prayers are with you....take care my friend..

Sorry to hear you lost your wife. It is sad and hard to get over this. I lost my son five years ago and I still think about him everyday. Bless you and your family.

Todd texted me on the phone Friday to give him a call. When I called him back, he was in tears and told me about the loss of his mother. My memory quickly went to the times I visited with her and conversations we shared when she was in good health. I am sorry to hear of your family's loss. Mrs. Pierce was always so nice when I came to visit. She was always very welcoming and friendly and wanting to know if I had enough to eat. Her love for her family was infinitely apparent! She was always so unassuming and unaware of the strong presence she possessed. A while ago, Todd had me listen to a message that she left on his voicemail. She would always start out with, "This is your mom" as if he wouldn't have known who it was without the introduction. As if, he wouldn't have recognized the timber of her voice, inflection or tone. We smiled. It was humorous, because he didn't need the introduction then and never needed it, because she was someone that he loved immensely and that loved him. Fact is, Mrs. Pierce never ever really needed an introduction because she always has been and will always be - unforgettable. With endless amounts of sympathy, friendship and love, Ignacio
