Rose Marie Brown, Age: 87
Apr 27, 1932 -- Nov 20, 2019

Rose Marie Brown, 87, of Lenexa, KS, moved to her eternal home on Wednesday, November 20, 2019.  A Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 PM followed by a visitation until 6:00 PM, Sunday, November 24, 2019 at the Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia Street, Lenexa, KS.  Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Monday, November 25, 2019 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Stone Chapel, 9130 Pflumm Rd, Lenexa, KS 66215. Burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS.  In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association.

Rose was born April 27, 1932, in St. Paul, MN. Rose was many things: an endlessly devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, a beloved matriarch, a lover of beauty and music and politics, a breast cancer survivor, and a constant source of strength and companionship for her ever-growing troupe of family and friends. Rose went by many names: Rosie, Pinchers, the Pulse, Fiji, The Turkey Queen, and, lastly, Beautiful. She was a beautician by trade (and by heart), first owning her own shop and then later specializing in nursing care facilities.  Her gentleness in revealing the beauty of the nursing care residents was a gift that she shared her whole life.  While the family was of utmost importance to Rose, her family was not confined to blood.  Over the years she met so many people, made so many friends that became dear to her and that loved her back, she had the largest family one could imagine.  Rose’s faith was strong, reared in a catholic education she held true her whole life.  Rose was a member of both Holy Trinity Church and Sacred Heart Church in Mound City.  She was preceded in death by her parents John and Agnes Juelich and 8 siblings, who Rose so looked forward to reuniting with.  She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Kenneth A. Brown, 6 children: Colleen (Barry) McKillip, Cincinnati, OH, Karen Little, St. Paul, MN, Scott (Betty) Brown, St. Paul, MN, Dan (Annette) Brown, Lenexa, KS, Paul (Jacque) Brown, Overland Park, KS, Cheryl (Lane) Crosser, Lake Quivira, KS, 17 grandchildren: Nicole, Angie, Brooke, Keri, Melissa, Jeremy, Jason, Jenny, Eric, Aaron, Sam, Max, Laurel, Julia, Ryan, Nate, Emalee and 11 great grandchildren. One of Rose’s greatest legacies is creating this loving, close-knit, and durable family who surrounded her in her final weeks and moments. We will miss her dearly, but are comforted knowing we will someday see our beautiful Rose again.

I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you through this very tough time. Your mom was one of the sweetest most loving people I have ever had the privilege of knowing . She will be missed but at the same time she will be remembered by many with a smile on their faces as she brought so much love and joy to her family and friends.

So sorry to hear of your loss Cheryl (and family). I lost my mother earlier this year and know how hard it is.... bittersweet is right! So happy to know your mother (and mine) have been saved and have many loved ones still surrounding them. We will be reunited when our time comes. Until then sending you lots of love and hugs 🤗 ❤️

What a beautifully written memorial to your mom. Aunt Rose was a truly wonderful, kind, and genuine person. I will always remember her great laugh and smile. She was a great person and will be missed. My thoughts and prayers have been with my godfather, Uncle Kenny, my goddaughter Cheryl, as well as my cousins Colleen, Karen, Scott, Danny and Paul. You are all very special to me and the Kirst family. Your mom is in heaven and smiling down on all of you. 💝 🌹
