Harold J. Mueller, Age 83, of Leawood, Kansas passed away October 3, 2019 peacefully in his home.
Harold was born December 30, 1935, the son of Julias H. & Gladys G. Mueller. He married Judith Ann Webster in 1962. They raised five children, he is the grandfather of six, great-grandfather of four, and considered family to many others.
Harold grew up in Hutchinson, Kansas. He then enlisted in the US Army. After serving for two years, he enrolled at the University of Kansas and graduated with a degree in business. He was a member and president of Sigma Nu fraternity. He retired after 35 years of working with Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance. During retirement he dedicated his time to woodworking and giving himself to his family and all those who had the blessing of knowing him. Harold was a man of deep faith and was actively involved in his parish, Curé of Ars, and the Serra Club of Johnson County. He extended his love, service, and prayers to friends and strangers alike. He uniquely impacted the life of everyone he knew with his humble spirit and immeasurable selfless acts of kindness.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents and four of his ten siblings; Vivian Weigel, Dwayne Mueller, Jeannie Jones, and Dickie Fast. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and six of his siblings.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; his siblings Janie Riggs and Mary Bishop of Hutchinson, KS; Barbara Warriner (Milton) of Shawnee, KS; Kenny Mueller (Sig) of Scottsdale, AZ; Thomas Mueller (Carroll) of Las Vegas, NV; Jerry Mueller of Hutchinson, KS; his children Doug Mueller (Linda) of Belton, MO; Denise Kelley of Leawood, KS; John Mueller of Naples, FL; Julie Thornton (Zach) of Leawood, KS; Suzanne Mueller of Overland Park, KS; grandchildren Ryan Mueller (Sara), Jaclyn Mueller, Emma Kelley, Alex Mueller, Thomas and Isabel Thornton; great-grandchildren Theodore, Amelia, Kaiden, and Kinsley.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 7th, 2019 at Curé of Ars Catholic Church at 1 o’clock p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions made to Curé of Ars Catholic Church or the Serra Club of Johnson County.
