Lois M. McDonald, 86, Overland Park, KS, died September 7, 2019. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, at the Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS. Graveside Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 13, at St. John's Cemetery in Independence, Iowa. Lois was born May 24, 1933, in Bloomington Wisconsin, the daughter of Francis and Dorothy Ousley. She grew up in Dubuque Iowa. After graduating from high school she married Clyde Robert Tindell on June 23, 1951. Clyde passed away on June 27,1954.
On February 8, 1958, she was united in marriage to John McDonald in Dubuque, Iowa They both were government employees before retiring to the Lake of the Ozarks. During their marriage they enjoyed traveling which included two trips to Ireland and one to Hawaii. They loved entertaining friends and family at their lake home.
Lois lived at the Atriums in Overland Park, KS for seven years. She was an avid Chiefs fan and really enjoyed watching college basketball. Her other activities included reading, bingo, farkle, playing cards, and going to the casinos with her friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, John. She is survived by her son, Craig and Vicki Tindell,Overland Park, KS, four daughters, Debbie Tindell, Overland Park, KS, Janice and John Mathews, Leawood, KS, Cindy Click Shawnee KS, and Gerri and Jim Dowdy, Hawkinsville, GA, eight grandchildren, Chris and (Eric) Kuehnast, Mike Tindell, Zach and (Caitlin) Mathews, Katelyn and (James) Rice, Mackenzie and (Aaron) Mickelson, Joshua, Brianna, and Trey Dowdy, two great grandchildren, Briana and Brayden Kuehnast.
