Gracelyn Ruth Nichols was born Friday July 26th, 2019, and passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2019 in her mother’s arms. She is survived by her parents, Daniel and Lindsey (Eaton) Nichols, maternal grandparents John and Cindy Eaton, and paternal grandparents Greg and Debbie Nichols.

Gracelyn was born two months early at 4 pounds 3.5 ounces and 17 inches long, with a full head of hair. Shortly after birth she was diagnosed with a malignant rhabdoid tumor, which ultimately took her life after 18 days in the hospital. Though her earthly life was short, she has already impacted many with her testimony of God’s power and goodness, and with her sweet and strong spirit. She is now free of cancer in heaven, which proves that there truly are “no losing scenarios” with the Lord.

Visitation will be from 5:30-7:00 PM followed by Funeral Services at 7:00 PM Monday, August 19, at Antioch Church, 5201 Antioch Road Overland Park,  KS 66202. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Children’s Mercy Hospital.

Lord God, from Whom human sadness is never hidden, You know the burden of grief that Daniel, Lindsey, and their family feels at the loss of Gracelyn. As they mourn her passing from this life, comfort them with the knowledge that Gracelyn now lives in Your loving embrace. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen. Daniel and Lindsey, though we have never met you we feel we know you just a bit through listening to John as he speaks of both of you, your brother, and your mother, Cindy, with such love and joy. Each time he comes into our office at McAnany Oil, he speaks of his family. What a joyous gift! We know you all find strength in your families and in the Lord.
