Dennis “Denny” Lee Marschman, 71, passed away in his home on May 4th after a courageous battle with cancer. Memorial Services 1:00 PM May 16, 2019 Wesley Covenant Chapel-United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, Leawood, KS.He was preceded in death by his father Elmer. He is survived by his mother, Irene, the love of his life and wife of nearly 30 years, Debby, daughters Kim DiMarzio (John), Chriss (Roy), step daughters Jamie Hembrough (Doug), and Jenny Rasmussen, grandchildren, Bode, Bryce, Marissa and Dakota, his brothers Kent (Monica), Don (Nikki), a sister Janis Strobbe, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Dennis retired in 2007 after 36 successful years with GE Healthcare, receiving multiple awards for his achievements over the span of his career.  When he wasn’t wearing a suit and tie, he could be found in t-shirts and blue jeans prepping his tackle box and fishing poles to catch the next big mouth bass, waxing his beloved Corvette, or woodworking in his shop creating masterpieces big and small.  Never an idle man, Dennis was always completing a project, or enjoying his love of the water.  His gentle soul and easy going temperament affected everyone around him.  He was kind, considerate, and generous to a fault…the very essence of a gentleman.  And his dry sense of humor amused those closest to him.  To meet Dennis was to know quiet tolerance and a courteous disposition.  To love him, was everything.

Dennis and Debby enjoyed traveling in their RV, “Max”, to National Parks and taking in the beautiful scenery from coast to coast. They also found a passion for listening to live blues and filling each other’s dance card boot-scootin across any dance floor.

Denny will forever be missed by family and friends, but we know he is at peace in heaven where the fish are biting, the Budweiser is cold, and the sun is forever shining.

Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society.

To say that Dennis was “one of the good guys” is an understatement. Always professional in all of his customer dealings at GE, he earned the respect of all who worked along side of him. His customers loved him and his coworkers respected and admired him. We had so many laughs and the memories are so very warm and will stay with me forever. He was successful in all he did in life and his fight right to the end did not surprise any of us. He will be missed, but he is out of pain now and relaxing by the big lak in the sky. God bless you Debby. He will always be watching over you. With fond and loving thoughts, Jan

I worked w/Dennis for my 20 years at GE & he was a wonderful friend & a mentor. I don’t think I would have survived my first year (1986) at GE without Dennis’ steadying hand on my shoulder. May the Lord comfort you all in this time of loss & grief!

To Dennis’s family, I was driving today and suddenly I thought of Dennis. I looked him up and saw the obituary about his passing one year ago today. I am so sorry for your loss. Dennis was such a great guy! We worked together at GE for nine years. He was my mentor in sales and I was so lucky to have his deep clinical and sales knowledge. He was so patient but so witty. I am sad to hear of his cancer battle. I truly send you my deepest condolences. Whenever I think of Dennis I just smile. Such a good guy.
