Dennis K. Fullman, of Olathe, KS, stepped into the arms his Lord and Savior, passing peacefull on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 after an intense and fearless battle with cancer. Born May 27, 1952, in Alexandria, VA. He was 66 years old.
Dennis’ life was a picture of consistency and of faithfulness, and he lived every day to serve his Lord and Savior in every area of his life.
· He was faithful as a husband, a father, grandfather and most recently great grand father.
· As a career he served as plant manager for Spangler Graphics for 30 years.
· Over the last 14 years Dennis was a member and a faithful servant at Lenexa Baptist Church. During that time he served as a Deacon and the leader of our benevolence ministry. He was an active part of our worship ministry singing in the choir. Dennis taught Sunday School for young couples, was a small group leader for Men’s Monday Night Bible Study and was active in the prayer ministry as well.
· Even during his illness over the past 14 months, Dennis did everything he could to be in church. Often wearing a mask, he would come early and pray with his Deacon brothers and attended Bible study whenever he was able.
· He took the calling to follow Jesus very seriously and he was determined to show everyone around him, his friends, his family, his co-workers, his doctors and the medical teams what it meant to be a fully devoted follower of Christ.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Lucille Fullman. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Lilly May Fullman, three daughters April and her husband Rob Schoenberg, Alisha Fullman and Angie and her husband Ryan Reed. Dennis was so very proud of his grandchildren Kyle and his wife Emily, Caleb, Dylan, Griffin, Sara Reed, Kate and Karsten Schoenberg as well as his newly arrived great grandson Samuel Reed.
He is also survived by one brother John Robert and his wife Lillian Fullman, one sister Karen Kay and her husband Gary Douglas and many other extended family members.
Galatians 5 describes the fruit of the Spirit as being characterized by love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Traits that are meant to characterize the believer’s life, characteristics that are absolutely foreign in our world. We’re here today because we knew and loved Dennis Fullman and I’m confident that what made him so special and what we will all miss so much is that his life was a picture of the fruit that only comes through knowing Jesus and living God’s Spirit.
