Dec 09, 1951---Feb 12, 2019

Jerry G. Avery, age 67, passed away on February 12, 2019 with his loving wife, Debbie by his side. He was a dedicated husband, loving father, amazing papa, and committed friend. Jerry was born December 9, 1951 in Baraboo, Wisconsin. He graduated from University of Wisconsin Eau Claire with a major in Marketing.

Jerry and “Deb” moved to Overland Park, KS in 1982 where they raised their six children. Jerry was actively involved in his church, his community and all the hobbies, sporting events, and dance recitals of each one of his kids.

At his passing Jerry was Vice President of Plant Operations at Pivotal Health Care.

Jerry had a gift for maintaining relationships. Whether it was with his wife of 46 years, his men’s Bible study group of 37 years, or the guys at Water Way. He valued time spent with others and always had time for a chat.

Loyalty, drive, endless love and commitment are only a few words Jerry’s family use to describe his legacy. Dad will be greatly missed, but we rejoice in knowing that he is at peace. We will find comfort in the many, many happy memories we have of him.

Jerry is survived by his wife Debbie and children: Jeran, (Nicole) Avery KC,MO Abby, (Chris) Quinn LA, CA. Elizabeth, (Peter) Rudd, OP, KS. Ty, (Tamorah) Avery KC, MO. Olivia and James of the home. Grandchildren Trace, Reagan, and Michael. Brothers: Larry and Paul (Joan) Avery. He was also “Uncle Jerry” to numerous wonderful nieces and nephews.

My heart went out to your family for the loss of your mother. I loss my mother over 10+ years ago. But I found comfort in these few scriptures. I hope they find comfort for you during this difficult time. Psalms 37:9,-11,29 9 For evil men will be done away with,j But those hoping in Jehovah will possess the earth.k 10 Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more;l You will look at where they were, And they will not be there.m 11 But the meek will possess the earth,n And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance 29 The righteous will possess the earth,i And they will live forever on it.j Please look up these scriptures in your own copy of the Bible. It will give you confidence you will see Jerry again under righteous condition where he is no longer sick but restored youth and healthy. If you enjoyed reading about this hope, you can read more of God's great plans for our future at www.jw.org Your neighbor, Jeanne Strange

Although we don’t know you personally, please accept our deepest sympathy for the recent loss of your loved one. You may feel like what the Bible says at Psalms 119:28 - “I weep with grief. My heart is heavy with sorrow. Encourage and cheer me with your words.” First Corinthians 15:26 says death is our enemy, and it truly is. But there will be an end to death, an end to sorrow and depression, You can be comforted by Jesus’ words in Revelation 21:3, 4: “And He will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more. Neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” May these promises from God sustain you during this difficult time.
