We read in John 3:21that he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. Gramps would be the first to tell you he wasn’t perfect, but let’s be honest other than Christ no one is. Gramps was, as John 3:21 states, a doer of truth in that he loved his family and was always ready to provide undivided attention and take interest in what was going on in his families life. Growing up I cannot remember a grandchild’s birthday party for which Gramps was not in attendance. Year after year Gramps was always there. In fact Gramps would even go the extra mile and effort to pick up and bring Granny to the party, even in her latter years. Perhaps this was because he knew Granny was the life of any party and a party just wouldn’t be as saucy without her. Either way this thoughtful act of love and care for his Mother is a further manifestation of the love he had for his family There were far more enjoyable things I am sure Gramps could be doing with his time on the weekend than coming to a dry party but the feeling I have always been left with was that he choose to be with his family because he loved his family and desired to be with them. His love for family was further manifested by his willingness to go that extra mile and effort to always bring Granny. It is funny how something so small as Birthday attendance could mean so much looking back, but I am sure that such deeds are a manifestation of truth and light because I know how it made me feel then and the deep gratitude, joy, and warmth it makes me feel now writing about it. There was manifest by and through Gramps a deep and abiding love and care for his family for which the light of Christ could be seen and felt by those he loved. I am thankful for his example the the impression Gramps left on me.

I worked with George at Certain Teed. I have known him for at least 30 years. We attended some of his auctions. He was a good person to be around. Good at entertaining at work. Rest in peace in God's hands George. Gerald and Brenda Daily

The one thing I can say about Gramps, is there was never any doubt in my mind that he loved me. That's really the only thing a child needs to know. I am grateful for him and his love. It's going to be a sweet reunion in heaven for all of us. <3
