Scott J. Wissman, 57, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at his home. Memorial Services will be 1:30 PM Saturday, December 8, at Porter Funeral Home 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Great Plains SPCA.

Scott was born December 8, 1960, in Detroit, MI and had lived most of his life in the Kansas City area. He worked at Western Auto, O'Neill Honda and was currently working for Ford Motor Company. He is survived by his parents John and Ann, three siblings Debra Wissman, Patrick Wissman, Susan (Mike) Parrish, niece Maddie and nephews Taylor and Jordan.

Scooter. I can’t say goodbye. Just can’t. Scott, we love you so much. A short life, a dagger in our hearts. Taken from us by a desease. An evil disease. An honorable man that would give a total stranger the shirt off his back. Would walk to the ends of the earth for a friend. I am proud, honored to be Scott’s friend. Loyal to those who fought for our freedom. A wounded warrior himself. Such a love for life. The outdoors. Close to nature. Scotty, thank you for being in our lives. We are blessed to no end to have had an amazing 35 years with you. Living without you is something that we will have to learn to live with. I just don’t see how that is possible at this point. Rest in pease my dear friend. You are in our hearts. You’re a part of us, our family. We love you, and always will.

Scott was my brother’s friend, and they had been friends for many years. I did not see Scott often but he would occasionally attend our family get togethers and was always cheerful, funny, and smiling. Always charming with lovely twinkling eyes. He will be missed by all who loved him. My deepest sympathy. Friends are hard to find and the loss is deep.
