Jun 13, 1980---Nov 26, 2018

James Michael Prideaux, age 38, passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 25th, 2018.  A visitation celebrating his life will be held on Friday, November 30th from 5 to 7:00 pm at Porter Funeral Home in Lenexa, KS.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to Speak Up Foundation at their website at https://www.jcfkc.org/speakup/page.html.

James was born on June 13th, 1980, to Michael and Roxanne Prideaux.  James was a very loving and loyal person and would do anything for his family and close friends.  He found solace in the outdoors and he loved to bike and ride his motorcycle.  James’ true love in his life was his daughter, Sara, and he was a very devoted and loving father.  James often put on a tough façade but, in reality, he had a big heart and loved very deeply.

James was preceded in death by his daughter, Sara Prideaux; his paternal grandfather, Thomas Prideaux; and maternal grandfather, Robert Galvin.  James is survived by his parents, Michael Prideaux (Lisa) and Roxanne Prideaux; his brother Scott Prideaux (Sara) and nephew, Oliver; and his step-sister, Sarah Streich; and countless aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He will be greatly missed.

I will always have his big smile etched in my heart. From the first day he came into my classroom and the many times he would come back to visit, it was obvious he was a special person with a big heart. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. May your sweet memories help you through the rough times.

I worked with James for a short time at Plattform Advertising (Keypath). He was always so nice and helpful and patient. My heart hurts hearing about his passing as he was way too young and such a good person. May he be with his Sara for eternity as she was his shining star.

I'm sad to hear Jim has passed. He was a great guy. I'm glad I got to go to high school with him. We ate lunch at school together a number of times. We got into Hondas at the same time. We would hang out on the weekends with other car enthusiasts and even lined up and did a lil street racing, he beat me every time. He had 4 of the same model of car I own today. I was heartbroken when I heard about his daughter. At her funeral he gave me a big hug as we hadn't seen each other in years. Just this year I ran into him at a auto parts store and we talked for about 10 min., I offered him to drive my Honda like the one he used to own but he was in a hurry so I told him he could drive it anytime he wanted. That was the last time I'd seen him. I'm going to miss him and I wish he would line up next to me at a stop light so I could get another chance at nice old fashioned street race. To his family my condolences. I think the only important thing in his life was his daughter and now he is back with her and he is finally at peace and happy. RIP Shorty.

Even though it has been many years since I last talked or saw James, I always have had good memories of him. He was a joy to have in class. He was always kind to everyone and did great work. I am honored to have been one of his high school teachers. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone right now.

Jim was great father and friend to so many. You will be missed, but not forgotten! Your friendship and infectious smile and sense of humor will be remembered forever - thanks for making me feel welcomed! You would help anyone or even give your shirt of your back. That was the kind of man you were and I like so many others was blessed to have known you. In closing, you were not alone as your fault and friends understood your pain and suffering over these past three years. I just wish we could have help ease your troubles! At this point, I can only pray your family can find some comfort to ease their pain knowing you have reached your destination and rejoicing in heaven with Sara and your other family members. God speed and heartfelt prayers!

I know there are no words. Shorty...as he was called by my sister, Sara, when they were kids....meant everything to my sister. The first time I met him, I knew he was a great kid, who turned into a wonderful man and father that honored my sister with a namesake. My heart hurts for everyone that is going through losing James....because I know he was loved so much. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. I know he is surrounded by both of his Sara's right now. God Bless you all.
