Mary Jo (Skwarlo) Carr, 79, Kansas City, KS, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018 due to complications from congestive heart failure. She was surrounded by her loving family. Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to Dr. Pasnoori, and especially Dr. Katrapati, and ALL of the beloved nurses in the CVCC-ICU 1-South at Providence Medical Center, and the staff at Select Specialty Hospital. Mary Jo was born September 23, 1939 to Joe and Grace Skwarlo in Kansas City, KS. She retired from Security Bank. Mary Jo lived in Kansas City, KS all her life and was a proud "Dotte". She attended St. Benedict’s Catholic Grade School and was a 1957 graduate of Bishop Ward High School. Mary Jo was an avid KU Fan. (Remember, "My mom is always right.") Mary Jo is survived by her 5 daughters and their spouses and children: Kelli and Stuart Littlefield; Karen and Bob Moretine; Kathy and Ross Hatfield; Krista and David Harding; Megan Russell and Nick Ayres; her grandchildren Ashley, Tony, Seth, Jennifer, Summer, Jimmy, Joe, Natalie, and Nicholas, and 2 great grandchildren, Grace and Gabriel; her sister Dianne Waters and husband Terry of Bedford, TX; and her nieces Joanna Hildebrand, Jessica McBride, Lisa Skwarlo and Sara Bryant and their children. Visitation, Thursday, November 29th, from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS. Rosary at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 30th at St. Patrick’s. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials in Mary Jo’s name may be made to: St. Patrick’s Catholic School, or The Sisters Servants of Mary, 800 N. 18th St., Kansas City, KS 66102, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

She fought the good fight trying to remain here for her girls & grandchildren but lost the earthly battle-but Heaven is hers now and she is pain free and whole.
