I received my final reward surrounded by my loving family on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at NorthCare Hospice. My visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, November 28 at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, KS with my Funeral Service starting at 11 a.m. My burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers my family suggests memorial contributions to St. Paul's Episcopal Church. I was born June 27, 1933, in Blue Rapids, KS the daughter of Orin and Anna Mae (Tingler) Short. My working career was at Sealright for 42 years, retiring as the manager of its Credit Union in 1997. I was an active member at St. Paul's Episcopal Church and served on the Vestry as its Treasurer, the Episcopal Church Women, the Daughters of the King, the Altar Guild and worked in the Church's Food Pantry. I was preceded in death by my parents, my son, Mark C. Buford in 2007 and a nephew Christopher Short in 2016. I am survived by my husband of 66 years, Roger H. Buford, my sister, Barbara Dungan, my nieces and nephew, Donna Forge, Marilyn Carroll, Pattie Rodriguez and George Buford (Cheryl) and numerous great nieces and nephews.
