Doris Lavina Ellison 85, Overland Park, KS, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Doris was born July 29, 1933 to Herbert and Gladys (Dawson) Martin in Louisburg, KS. She worked at Business Men’s Assurance Company (BMA) before marrying the love of her life, Dale Ellison, on March 30, 1958. Doris lived in Overland Park, KS most of her life and was a member of Hillcrest Christian Church. Doris was preceded in death by her sister Evelyn Joyce Martin, and her brother, Wayne Martin. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dale; 2 daughters, Lori Ellison of Overland Park, KS; Lisa and husband Tom Stec of Overland Park, KS; her beloved "grandkiddies", Nick and Abby Stec; brother Louis (Gene) and wife Martha Martin of Indianapolis, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 15 at Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence, KS;  Memorials in Doris’ name may be made to Hillcrest Christian Church, 11411 Quivira, Overland Park, KS 66210 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
