Mel was a dear friend and co-worker. Mel actually hired me at Cuna Mutual in 1974. Since I was from Mineral Point originally, and Kim had relatives there, we knew some of the same people from the areas. God bless you and peace be with you and your family. Darlys

Kim and Family, Linda and I are very sorry to hear of Mel's passing. Mel was justifiably proud of his accomplishments, both on the field and at CUNA Mutual Insurance Group, where we first met. I still miss our lunchtime cribbage and card games and trading stories of the funny things that happen to officials on the field--his in football and mine in soccer. Our prayers are with him as well as you and your Family. Mike and Linda Medland

Kim, you have my deepest sympathy. Mel hired me at CUNA Mutual in 1976. He was a great supervisor and good friend. He did a super job in refereeing sports, especially my daughters’ volleyball games. Enjoyed going to State Girls basketball games with lots of laughs. He will be missed.

Mel and Kim were my neighbors for many years. They helped me out a lot as, at that time, someone not necessarily used to the requirements of home ownership. We shared a snow blower and a trailer as well as many good times. Our condolences. Ron and Kris

Ron and Mel met in Business College in the mid 60's and hung out together and became friends. We were also team mates in fast pitch softball. Mel worked at Oscar Mayer with Judy and set up a blind date with Ron. We have been married 50 years now. Mel was a great friend and unfortunately we lost track of each other. We are very sorry for the loss of your husband and father and am glad that he is at rest now.

Kim & Family: Mel lived a very full life and you were at the heart of his greatest Joy. So many enjoyed his great personality & abilities. He shared his talents with so many. His volunteer cooking at the Gilda House is only an example of his kind & caring heart. Our child rearing and busy schedules kept us from spending more time together for so many years. I regret what I missed. Our visits at Paul's before you moved was special. Kim, the care & Love you gave Mel, especially during his Parkinson's battle, was so inspirational..
