Nov 10, 1953---Sep 20, 2018

Sheryl J. Joski, 64, of Lenexa passed away September 20, 2018.  A memorial gathering to celebrate her life will be 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 28 at Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia Street, Lenexa, KS.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Children’s Mercy, Department of Philanthropy, 2401 Gillham Road, Kansas City, MO 64108.

Sheryl was born November 10, 1953, the daughter of Ervin C. and Margaret Ann (Doffing) Mies, in Wichita, KS.  After a couple moves around the country, she made Kansas City home in 1978.  She loved to travel, was a fantastic cook, enjoyed time on the golf course and relaxing by the pool.  But most of all, she loved spending time with friends and family, notably, her 6 grandchildren.

She spent the last 26 years alongside her loving husband and biggest supporter, Gary Joski.  She had a vast group of friends who were more like family.  Always welcoming and endlessly generous, Sheryl will be missed by all those who knew her.

Sheryl is survived by her son, Greg Alford and wife Gwen; daughter, Dee Moss and husband Bryson; step-daughter, Melissa Schierding; grandchildren, Grace Alford, Carter Moss, Avery Moss, Graham Moss, Logan Barnhart, and Hailey Mitchell.

I was very sad to hear about Sheryl’s passing this week. She has been a fun & caring coworker. She always took time to ask about my life when I returned from a weekend trip or holiday. I enjoyed talking to her and loved her spunky personality. She will be greatly missed!

I had the privileged to work with Sheryl at Sprint. Sheryl was the epitome of a great coworker. Always willing to help and a nice person to talk to. She was genuinely interested in my life and always gave me good advice. I will miss Sheryl, so sweet and little naughty at times. My prayers continue to be with her family during this difficult period.

We will always remember the fun times we had and she and Gary were Cole's first babysitter! I will never forget her kindness and her laugh! Keeping all of you in my prayers! Love, Laurie, Michael and Cole ox
