Faraon Falcon, 92, of Kansas City, MO passed away September 2, 2018.  Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Friday, September 7 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church (Redemptorist), 3333 Broadway Blvd, Kansas City, MO; followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m.  Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to University of Kansas Cancer Center, 2330 Shawnee Mission Pkwy, Westwood, KS 66205 or visit www.givingkansashealthsystem.com/tribute.

Faraon was born March 20, 1926, the son of Blas and Mariana (Reyna) Falcon, in McAllen, TX.  He grew up in McAllen and graduated from high school.  He joined the United States Air Force during World War II.  He worked as an Armorer on a variety of mechanical systems on bombers during his service; received honorable discharge with the rank of Corporal in 1946.  He married Sofia Castro in 1947.  Faraon worked for Missouri Portland Cement Company for 25 years.  Following his retirement, he would go on to work until he was unable to. 

He was a lifetime member of the VFW and was extremely proud of military service veterans.  He was honored to have been part of the small percentage of the surviving veterans from World War II. 

Faraon is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Sofia.  He is survived by his sister, Minerva Falcon Lanham; daughter, Diana Rodriguez and husband John; daughter, Gloria Aguilar; son, Faraon Falcon, Jr. and wife Marie; son, Robert Falcon and wife Pat; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
