Jason Eric Platt, 49 of Independence, MO passed away Thursday August 23 surrounded by family at Truman Hospital in Kansas City, MO.  Memorial Services will be held on September 8 at 11am at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Lenexa, KS.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Alcoholics Anonymous and the Midwest Organ Transplant Network.

Jason was born May 1, 1969 in Newport Beach, CA.  He attended grade school and high school in Independence, MO.  Jason furthered his knowledge of auto mechanics by attending Joe Herndon Vocational School. He was a respected professional mechanic for over 30 years who was known within the community for his willingness to help out others - regardless of their ability to pay.  When he wasn’t working Jason was an avid hunter, marksman, pool player and enjoyed canoeing with Kelly.

Jason is preceded in death by his father, Tom, and his sister, Melissa.  Jason is survived by his soulmate of 28 years Kelly, his three children, Brenden, Cevin, and stepson Joshua, his mother Karen, stepfather Jerry, and his brother Shawn and stepbrother Richard, sisters Tiffany, Belinda and Diana and stepsister Vicky.  Including a long list of nieces, nephews and an extended family and close friends.

Jason will be missed beyond words, but his friends and family take comfort knowing that he is no longer in pain and rests in peace with God in Heaven.
