Kristin Elizabeth (Thomas) Hammer, age 37, of Grandview, MO passed away August 14, 2018 as a result of a motorcycle accident in South Kansas City. She was born on January 13, 1981.  She made a commitment to Christ at a young age and was baptized.  She enjoyed dancing and sports when she was young.  She played the flute and was on the soccer team through her high school years and also played one year in the Olathe Youth Baseball League.  Kristin enjoyed music and hanging out with her friends.  As a teenager, she went on several mission trips with the youth group from church.  Kristin had a beautiful voice and sang in the youth choir and later in the adult choir at church.  She also sang in her high school choir.  Kristin completed her GED in 1999 and then completed schooling in cosmetology learning to style hair. She frequently donated her time to the community during Free Hair Cutting Days for underprivileged children and adults.  Kristin was a hairstylist for many years.  She then went to school and was certified in medical coding.  She was a very hard worker. Kristin spent most of her time as a single mom, raising her four children.  She began riding motorcycles about five years ago.  She passed away after an accident on her motorcycle.  Kristin will be laid to rest at the Olathe Memorial Cemetery.  She is survived by her Grandmother Donna.  Father and Mother, Joe and Beth; two brothers, Jonathan and Adam; and four beautiful children, Emma, George, and twins, Donnajo and Laylajane.  We all loved her and she will be missed.

Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 pm Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the Porter Funeral Home, Lenexa, Kansas. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, August 17, 2018 at the Porter Funeral Home. Rev. Bill Shiflett (Lenexa Baptist Church) will officiate Burial to follow at the Olathe Memorial Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Lottie Moon Missions Offerings.
